One way that Modivcare supports its members is by investing in and being involved with the communities we serve. Through volunteer initiatives, supporting local transportation providers, and enabling local employees to fully integrate themselves into the regions where they live and work, we hope to bolster these areas and more holistically provide care to our members and the communities we serve.

Modivcare’s Support for Local New Jersey Organizations

One example is in New Jersey, where we provide non-emergency medical transport to almost half a million members monthly. Beyond just the services we provide, our team has been hard at work serving various communities by organizing initiatives to help give back and support local causes. This year, the team continued our partnership with Jake’s Place, an organization in Camden, New Jersey dedicated to creating inclusive playgrounds for children and adults with disabilities. Modivcare has been working with Jake’s Place for two years and this year donated $5,000 to support the Camden County NJ Miracle League, which provides people of all ages with disabilities an opportunity to play baseball. The donation went toward the organization’s fundraising efforts to send its players and coaching staff to the National Miracle League All-Star game in Palm Beach, Florida, in November 2024. We also made jerseys and gave a short presentation at the opening day game for the Camden County NJ Miracle League, further supporting this wonderful cause and fulfilling our desire to support noteworthy organizations in local communities.

In addition to our support for Jake’s Place, the Modivcare team in New Jersey has worked with several other charitable organizations to make an impact. In 2023, we volunteered at Ronald McDonald House Southern New Jersey in Camden to serve breakfast to patients and their families. Ronald McDonald House provides a “home-away-from-home” for pediatric patients and their families, and the Southern New Jersey location has served more than 28,500 families with children treated at nearby hospitals. We welcomed the opportunity to support the hardworking team and the families the organization helps. Modivcare also donated to and participated in the annual Walk n’ Roll for the Children's Specialized Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Walk n’ Roll supports life-changing care for New Jersey's kids living with complex medical conditions and special healthcare needs, from chronic illnesses, complex disabilities, and brain and spinal cord injuries to a full scope of developmental, behavioral, and mental health concerns.

Fostering Diversity and Inclusion

In addition to supporting outside organizations, we prioritize encouraging a supportive culture driven by diversity and inclusion in the workplace. As a result, we were recognized at the second annual DEI Trailblazer Awards reception, co-hosted by the African American Chamber and the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, where we received the DEI Trailblazer Award for Board Diversity.

Modivcare is committed to improving the health of its members and as we continue this important work nationwide and in states like New Jersey, we hope to foster a sense of support in the regions we are part of. We’re proud to contribute to and work alongside local organizations to improve the health and well-being of local communities.
