Starting September 1, 2026, Montana Medicaid members can contact Modivcare to schedule rides for travel on or after October 1, 2026.

Routine trips need to be scheduled at least 3 business days before the scheduled appointment. If you have an urgent transportation need that cannot be scheduled in advance, call Modivcare for help.

•  The member’s Montana Medicaid member ID
•  The member’s name, date of birth, and phone number
•  The date and time of the member’s appointment
•  The name and address of the medical provider
•  The member’s pickup address
•  Whether the member needs a one-way or round trip ride
•  Information about any mobility or transportation needs, such as use of a wheelchair

Members, a family member, caregiver, representative, or the medical provider’s office can contact Modivcare to schedule transportation.

Members can use Modivcare transportation to get to and from Montana Medicaid covered services. Modivcare will ask questions about the trip and transportation needs when it’s scheduled.

Modivcare will ask questions about the member’s needs and arrange the appropriate type of transportation. The type of ride provided is based on the member’s transportation needs and program requirements.

Members are expected to visit providers closest to them. Some trips may need more review. Call Modivcare at (800) 292-7114 if you have questions about your trip.

Yes. If a member, a family member, friend, or representative can provide the ride, they may be eligible for gas mileage reimbursement. Call Modivcare at (800) 292-7114 to get started.

Gas mileage reimbursement can be submitted through the Modivcare App or by using a paper trip log available at www.MyModivcare.com. Members can also call Modivcare at (800) 292-7114 for help. The medical appointment must be verified before reimbursement can be issued.

Gas mileage reimbursement requests may be submitted up to 30 days after the trip. The member will still need the required trip ID(s) provided by Modivcare and a completed paper trip log, including the required signature, before reimbursement can be processed. Call Modivcare at (800) 292-7114 if you need help with the process.

Members should call Modivcare as soon as they can, or at least one day before the ride, at (800) 292-7114.

Call Modivcare at (800) 292-7114 and select the ride assist option for help with the ride.

Let Modivcare know when the ride is scheduled. A return ride may be arranged as a will-call if the member is unsure what time the appointment will end. When the member is ready to leave, they can:

• Call Modivcare at (800) 292-7114 and select Ride Assist
• Say “Will Call” in the automated phone system
• Use the Modivcare mobile app or text message link, if available Once the will-call is activated, Modivcare will begin coordinating the return ride.

Yes. If the member uses a wheelchair, tell Modivcare when the ride is scheduled so the appropriate vehicle can be arranged. The member must provide their own wheelchair.

An escort or attendant may be allowed when needed to safely assist members during transportation. Let Modivcare know when the ride is scheduled if the member needs someone to travel with them.

Members are responsible for providing the appropriate child safety seat when one is required. The safety seat must be available at the time of pickup for the child to be transported.

Language assistance is available. Let the Modivcare representative know which language is preferred when calling.

Call Modivcare at (800) 292-7114 to report a concern or complaint about the transportation. Modivcare will document and review the concern. If a member needs immediate help with a current ride, call Modivcare at (800) 292-7114.

For a medical emergency, call 911. Modivcare provides non-emergency medical transportation and does not provide emergency transportation.
