NET system aids Mainers lacking transportation access
Many people in Maine live in rural areas where transportation can be a barrier to accessing essential services. Maine’s Non-Emergency Transportation (NET) system helps those who can’t drive or afford private transport get to medical appointments, pick up prescriptions, and access healthcare. Christine DeCosta, a NET driver, and Lydia Hennick from Modivcare Maine discuss how the program works and supports the community. Their efforts ensure that transportation challenges don’t prevent Mainers from getting the care they need.
