What is your role at the organization? How long have you worked with us?

I am the Regional Director of Clinical and Office Operations for our PA Personal Care business. I have been with the organization for over 8 years. I originally started at Philadelphia Home Care Agency and stayed on when they were acquired by CareFinders and then Modivcare.

What is your favorite thing about working for our combined organization?

I think what’s incredibly exciting about our combined organization is the potential to provide the whole package, something not yet seen in the home care realm. Once fully integrated, we have the potential to be a one-stop shop for the needs of our members, all working in unison to extend their ability to stay home, maintaining safety, comfort, and as much independence as possible.

What do you love most about your job? How has it impacted your career?

I will always be a strong advocate for care in the home as I believe, under the right circumstances, this has a profound impact on the patient’s overall health and mental well-being. Being part of an organization that looks for ways to support the patient in staying home safely for as long as possible is incredibly rewarding. As a former visiting nurse, I had countless interactions where priceless wisdom was shared, and I always came home knowing I impacted someone’s day for the better.

Not only are we touched by our patients, but we are also impacted daily by the caregivers and admin team members who, all combined, really make it more than just a job. Home care is a well-oiled machine and only works if working together. Whether it’s creating a career path for our caregivers or empowering our admin staff to be the best they can be, the impact that we can leave on someone’s life is endless. This is what drove me to the home care field and will forever drive my career.

What do you like to do for fun outside of the office?

I like to spend time with my husband and four-year-old daughter.  In the fall, we enjoy festivities like apple picking, pumpkin carving, and lots of hayrides.

Who inspires you?

My mom. My family and I immigrated from Ukraine when I was very young, and I watched my mom have to learn a new language and establish a new career. Everything was foreign, but she welcomed the change with open arms and embarked on a journey of constantly striving to better herself. I was inspired by how passionate and patient she was about becoming a nurse, and it drove me to want to follow in her footsteps. No matter how difficult the day was, she came home every day proud to be a part of the home care field and humbled by her impact on patients.

What is something most people do not know about you?

English is not my native language, and I had to learn very quickly on my own to keep up with school. Luckily, I was very young and absorbed everything like a sponge and learned quickly by watching Disney movies after school (all of which I had memorized in Ukrainian). If only that worked for me again years later when taking Spanish classes.
