This holiday season, Modivcare partnered with Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA) of Colorado to bring the spirit of the season to children who have been removed from their family homes due to neglect or abuse.

We placed “giving trees” with ornaments featuring the holiday gift wishes of Colorado CASA kids in our Denver office. Employees were encouraged to take one or more ornaments and fulfill the gift requests listed on the ornaments. With our employees’ generous donations, we helped bring the holiday spirit to 100 kids in need.

“Advocates for Children CASA would like to extend a huge, heartfelt thank you to the kind and generous team at Modivcare!” says Jack Cregan, Development Coordinator at CASA. “These gifts will bring joy to children and youth in foster care, kinship care and residential treatment centers, as well as those who have been reunified with their families.”

During the holiday season and beyond, CASA Volunteers help support the children. “A CASA Volunteer can provide a sense of hope as a consistent presence in the child’s life, especially during this holiday season. CASA Volunteers are by a child’s side year-round, helping them navigate the most difficult times of their lives,” Jack explains. “Imagine what it’s like for children who were removed from their homes and placed in foster care in the last few months – finding themselves in a new home or new school as they cope with the trauma of abuse or neglect. Sadly, thousands of children who have experienced abuse or neglect will be separated from their family during the holidays. That’s where their CASA Volunteer steps in.”

If you or someone you know would like to help, visit CASA’s website at coloradocasa.org.

Thank you to all the Modivcare employees who supported this great cause! And special thanks to Catriona Stack, Senior Manager of Team Member experience at Modivcare, for working with CASA to put everything together! Finally, thank you to Jack Cregan and Andrea Tagtow, Director of Development & Community Relations at CASA, for helping us make this happen!
